What’s Your Personality Type?

I love quizzes that help determine a personality type. And, if the results are on-point with how I see myself, even better. It’s fun to look inside and see what makes us tick.

I recently took THIS personality quiz and I was blown away at how accurate the results were. My experience may differ from yours, but answer these questions honestly and see if your results are almost creepy in their accuracy.

Leave me a comment below about your results!

School Year Winds Down and Teachers Are Losing Their Minds

I’m a teacher. Twenty-two school days of this year remain. The school year is winding down and I’m oh-so-very grateful. But, I’m also losing my mind. Every day, I feel more and more brain cells die. I love my students. I do. But, the end is near and my sanity is slowly fading.

Teachers, do you feel me? Comment below.
Parents have this same type feeling many days as they wait for bedtime. Parents, you can comment as well.

Just a couple memes that spoke to me as I scrolled through today. All of these are accurate.

What Your Favorite Color Says About You

What does your favorite color say about you? Go ahead, pick your favorite color. Do it before you read on.

So what does the color mean? According to Psychology Today the color you pick can tell someone a great deal about you and your personality. (Click HERE to see the whole article.)

Black. People who choose black as their favorite color are often artistic and sensitive.  While these people aren’t introverts, they are careful with the details of their lives and do not share easily with others.

White. People who like white are often organized and logical and don’t have a great deal of clutter in their lives.

Red. Those who love red live life to the fullest and are tenacious and determined in their endeavors.

Blue. If blue is your favorite color you love harmony, are reliable, sensitive and always make an effort to think of others.  You like to keep things clean and tidy and feel that stability is the most important aspect in life.

Green. Those who love the color green are often affectionate, loyal and frank.  Green lovers are also aware of what others think of them and consider their reputation very important.

Yellow. You enjoy learning and sharing your knowledge with others.  Finding happiness comes easy to you and others would compare you to sunshine.

Purple. You are artistic and unique.  You have a great respect for people but at times can be arrogant.

Brown. You are a good friend and try your hardest to be reliable and dependable.  Flashy objects are not something you desire; you just want a stable life.

Care2.com goes into a little more detail with what colors can tell about a person. Click HERE for the whole article.

For me, I am pretty settled right smack dab in the middle of blue and purple, so I have to take both of those descriptions into account. I’d say both colors are about 50% me, which makes sense.

So, what does your color say about you? Do you agree or disagree? Leave me a comment!

Dealing with Annoying, Know-It-All People

We’ve all been there. We’re in a conference room, a lecture hall, a grocery store line, or even at a family gathering. And the annoying, know-it-all person makes her appearance. These type of people come in many forms. Sometimes she’s loud, brash, wears too much perfume, or has a voice like fingernails on a chalkboard. Or, maybe the person you’re dealing with makes fun of others, has an answer for EVERYTHING, or tells ridiculous/racist/bigoted jokes and thinks she’s the funniest thing ever.

Annoying, know-it-all people are all around us. Unfortunately, there’s little we can do to completely avoid people like this.

So, how do we handle the situations?

  • Leave if you’re able. If not, breathe deeply, doodle in the margin of your paper, and imagine the most satisfying ways to knife her eyes out. (Don’t act on these images, of course.)
  • Do your best to glean SOMETHING useful from the speech, presentation, conversation. Resist the urge to ask for the hours you’ve wasted listening to her speak to be returned to you. Those hours are gone. You cannot get them back. You can only hope to avoid her and those like her in the future.
  • Entertain yourself by annoying her back. Ask stupid questions to throw her off. Laugh at her even louder than she laughs at herself. Get those around you to laugh at YOU rather than laughing at her. That will really screw up her game.
  • If you’re at a family function your options are somewhat different. Claim you’re sick and need the bathroom immediately. (Be careful as you crawl out through the bathroom window.) Pawn Ms. Annoying-Know-It-All off on your second cousin twice removed. After all, he’s ALMOST as annoying as she is.
  • Take lessons from her on how NOT to be the Annoying-Know-It-All. If you think your group or family doesn’t have an Annoying-Know-It-All, it’s very likely that it’s YOU. Change your ways. Don’t spend the rest of your life making people want to avoid you.

How do YOU deal with those annoying, know-it-all people in your life? Leave a comment!

Kitten Videos for the Win!

Even if you don’t have a cat, you likely think cute kitten videos are adorable. We have a new kitten at home. His name is Gizmo. He’s about 10 weeks old. He’s absolutely one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen.

Today, for your viewing entertainment, I give you Gizmo. Nothing special. Just him being a cute kitten.

Are you a pet person? Do you love funny cat videos?

Pimple Popping Video Obsession

It’s true. I have an obsession with pimple popping videos. Readers are either going to wrinkle their noses and ask what in the heck is wrong with me, or they will feel a kinship with me because they, too, are obsessed with these videos.

Seriously, I don’t understand it. But I know I find these videos very satisfying. I won’t post anything graphic here in case you’re a reader who finds the whole thought repulsive. However, I HAVE to post a link to Dr. Sandra Lee so that you can maybe, just MAYBE, take a chance and watch some of the videos. The video below is just Dr. Sandra Lee introducing her channel. You can click from there to see the selection of videos.

What are your thoughts on this obsession of mine? Are you with me? Or do you think I’m crazy? Comment below! 🙂

It’s the end of the day, so my makeup and hair are wilted. And, I’m clearly opening this and seeing items for the first time, so go easy on me 🙂 (PS– the item at the end is a beach/picnic blanket!)

Do you like subscription boxes? Which are your favorite? Why do you like them?

Teens Can’t Smell Sweat

As a mother of a “tween” daughter, a son rapidly approaching “tween” status, and a teacher of ages 10-14, I am treated daily to….how do I put this? Well, plain and simple, STENCH. Tweens and teens STINK. But, a study recently found that teens can’t smell sweat. The study didn’t end the problem of teens stinking, but it at least offered some scientific evidence that mothers, teachers, the general adult public can smell certain things much better than teens.

According to The News & Observer, a study conducted in Denmark provided answers as to why teens don’t have the same reaction to smelly rooms, clothes, shoes, etc as adults do.

Even the Today Show found this study interesting.

This may provide a lot of comfort to mothers, teachers, and other adults everywhere. Although, if you need certain scents sniffed out, seems like a teen is your best bet.

The full study conducted by Aarhus University in Denmark revealed a lot of interesting findings about teens. As a mother and a teacher, this study is both fascinating and terrifying.
